Caryl Serbin, RN, BSN, LHRM, President & founder of Serbin Medical Billing, has contributed a two-part series on ASC coding errors to Becker's ASC Review.

As Caryl notes, there are complex areas of coding which can cause coding errors. These errors may lead to under-coding, which can adversely affect an ASC's financial health, or up-coding, which can put an ASC in jeopardy of non-compliance.

Part one, published in September, focuses on orthopedics, gastroenterology and ophthalmology. Access it here.

Part two, published in October, focuses on podiatry, otolaryngology (ENT), general coding tips and modifiers. It can be accessed here.
