New Virginia Joint-Venture ASC Benefits From Outsourced Revenue Cycle Management
OVERVIEW
A group of physicians partnered with a local hospital to develop a multi-specialty, joint-venture ambulatory surgery center in Virginia. Primary specialties include podiatry, orthopedics, and otolaryngology (ENT). The ASC plans to perform total joint procedures and apply for a 23-hour stay status.
SERBIN INVOLVEMENT
With its extensive experience in ambulatory surgery center billing and history of ASC development and management, Serbin Medical Billing was chosen by the joint-venture ASC partners to provide ongoing revenue cycle services and assistance with setting up operations.
SERBIN DIFFERENCE
Serbin Medical Billing collaborated with the ASC’s management and development company to establish the new ambulatory surgery center as a high-quality surgical care provider and respected employer for the community. During this first year of its operations, the ASC is performing total knee replacements as well as a variety of other orthopedic, podiatric, and ENT cases.
Even with COVID-19 restrictions on elective surgery forcing the temporary closure of the ASC, Serbin Medical Billing's collaborative efforts with the physicians, hospital leadership, and management and development company to continue billing and collecting maintained the ASC’s cash flow and enabled the center to reopen smoothly.
“Caryl Serbin and her team specialize in ASC billing and do an excellent job of communicating throughout the monthly cycle with myself and our business office manager. They were an asset during the startup process and continue to be a resource for both our business office and surgeons.”
