Ask Caryl: Most Common ASC Specialties
Q: We are developing an ASC and would like to know what specialties to include. Can you give us an idea of the most common specialties?
Caryl Serbin: Here is a graph depicting the percentage of utilization of ASCs by specialty, according to the 2017 edition of VMG Health's Multi-Specialty ASC Intellimarker.
As VMG notes, data in the Intellimarker study is based on information provided for 278 centers around the country representing an aggregate surgical case volume of over 1.3 million. Data included in the report is from 2015 and 2016.
